The Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors was founded in 1932 and represents more than 1,500 automotive engineer assessors who are responsible for a range of activities such as:
· Vehicle damage assessment
· Accident reconstruction
· Mechanical failures
· Vehicle fire investigations
· Electrical failures
· Expert witness
· Repairer assessment
· Car fleet surveys
· Conciliation and arbitration
Approximately 50 per cent of the Institute’s membership is directly employed by insurance companies and the other half work as independent engineer assessors.
Membership of the Institute is determined by a combination of age, experience and qualifications. In addition to complying with the Institute's examination and training requirements, it is necessary for candidates applying for admission as members to have had at least two years experience in a responsible position in the profession.
This area of the Institutes website is to facilitate the growing needs of providing it's members with a swift and efficient ecommerce solution for purchasing Educational and membership products and no doubt will grow in the future to allow additional products and services to be provided.
